Tulsa, Okla. In August 2024, Love Mobile negotiated with Google’s “Grow with Google” initiative to secure free professional certifications for students, family members and faculty at Booker T. Washington High School. By promoting the opportunity through its subscriber network and coordinating with school leaders, Love Mobile made sure North Tulsa residents could access Google’s industry-recognized, self-paced online training at no cost.
Booker T. Washington High School: A Community Anchor
Founded in 1913, Booker T. Washington High School has long been a cornerstone of North Tulsa, a historically Black neighborhood – the school remains a magnet campus offering Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs for 1,280 students across grades 9–12 GreatSchools. Today, its student body is 69 percent minority, with 54 percent qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch U.S. News & World ReportSchoolDigger. Despite economic challenges in the surrounding community—where median household income is about $41,000 versus $70,000 county-wide—the school boasts a 100 percent graduation rate, outperforming district and state averages ed-stats.state.ok.us.
